Hospitality members' club TRADE goes digital with launch of new app

TRADE, the members’ club for the hospitality industry founded by hospitality veterans Xavier Rousset MS and Gearoid Devaney MS, has today launched a free app available to anyone who works in hospitality, providing access to the community and perks beyond the walls of the much-loved Soho club, which closed its doors in March 2020.

CONNECTING THE HOSPITALITY COMMUNITY

A virtual version of the former members’ club, the app provides a hub for hospitality professionals to access an ecosystem of resources, perks and tools to equip them in a post-lockdown world and beyond. The TRADE app is free to access to all hospitality professionals and includes:

NEWS:

JOBS:
Members can advertise job vacancies, search the jobs database or upload their CV to attract potential employers

WELLBEING:

MARKETPLACE:
A forum to buy and sell surplus equipment/furniture, advertise flat shares and more

TRADE’s current paying membership base of 1,600 members will become Founder Members of the TRADE app, giving them extra benefits including exclusive access to partner members clubs such as 67 Pall Mall, Quo Vadis Club, The Court and Blacks Club; plus discounts on F&B at the TRADE founders’ new bar, The Black Book (details below) and other exclusive perks.

Devaney said “Xavier and I took time out during lockdown to consider what the industry would find useful given the new challenges we’re facing, thinking back to the vision we had when we first launched TRADE. Now seems like a better time than ever to launch an app-based hub in which to share resources, advice, news, ideas and jobs. Welcome to the world of TRADE: we look forward to getting our community back up and running, and sharing some good times with you all once again.”

THE BLACK BOOK, FRITH STREET

The TRADE Soho site on Frith Street was recently reborn as The Black Book, named after TRADE’s much-loved Black Book of regularly changing rare and fine wines and spirits. The new bar is open to all and specialises in interesting wines at discounted prices (thanks to the owners’ industry connections), alongside perfectly served cocktails and classic brasserie dishes.

Founder members of the TRADE App will be treated to 50% off wine at The Black Book for the whole of September, with all hospitality workers receiving 10% off their total bill when quoting ‘TRADE App 10’. Rousset commented: “We thought long and hard about the future of the physical club and realised the only way to thrive post-pandemic was to open our doors to anyone who appreciates good wine and food. We expect many of our hospitality friends and members to return when we re-open; TRADE quickly became the industry’s hangout, and we don’t see that changing.”
