Wonderful value for money alongside a friendly palate gave Foley a By The Glass Trophy on top of Gold.'Typical red fruit characteristics on the nose, vibrant with good balance of acidity,' began Nausicaa Rotolani of Roka Mayfair, with FJB Collection's Charles Van Wyk noting 'redcurrant and plum, hints of green apple, a slight greenness on the palate with hints of spice and clove', and team leader Tom Forrest picking up spicy cherry fruit on the nose and cinnamon on the palate.

A worthy winner of a By The Glass Trophy, team leader Angela Reddin enjoyed 'warm spices with oodles of black fruit, along with notes of orange zest, good tannins and a long, clean finish', while Spring's Peter McDaid highlighted its 'delicate spiced plum and allspice with nicely integrated oak' characters.'Such a progressive port, with its nice, delicate finish,' agreed Bart Michalewicz of Park Chinois. £12.63/75cl

'Lovely, not too heavy, it's still got the typical character, but it's easy to enjoy,' said Zigmars Grinbergs of Vinoteca of this violet-scented Gold Lister and By The Glass Trophy holder.'Dark, vibrant fruits and lightly oaked, soft and juicy on the palate with a decent finish,' began Harry Crowther of M Restaurants, with team leader Tom Forrest also finding 'ripe, sweet berry fruits and a juicy finish'.
